The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s leading animal advocacy organization, seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician for our Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch (CABBR) located in Murchison, TX. In this role, you will focus on maintaining and enhancing the facilities at CABBR. Your responsibilities will include managing one or more programs related to facility maintenance, such as pasture and landscape care, fertilization and planting, pest control, fencing and enclosures, vehicle and road upkeep, as well as plumbing and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, contracting, and project management within one or more maintenance programs at CABBR.
- Conduct inspections to ensure equipment and facilities operate effectively, initiating projects for repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Assist in planning and executing construction and renovation projects.
- Supervise and train contractors, staff, volunteers, and interns on techniques, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain logs to document ongoing and completed maintenance tasks.
- Recommend new equipment options as necessary.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in facilities maintenance required; three (3) years preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, and tractors.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes on time.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
- A genuine interest in animal protection issues is preferred.
